People are ripping the piss out of these Boohoo 'maternity' models

What is that!?

I’VE SEEN SOME questionable editing on online retailers before but I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a lazy attempt to cover it up.

Many online retailers have faced accusations of getting models to wear added padding to appear ‘curvier’ for certain product shots, but now Boohoo is the subject of online teasing after it appeared to stuff a model’s outfits with padding for their maternity range.

Yes, eagle-eyed shoppers have been quick to share pictures of the odd looking silhouette on Twitter, saying that the site have clearly used fake pregnancy bumps.

While many have just laughed off the glaringly obvious padding, others have shared their frustrations at the decision to do so rather than simply hiring pregnant models.

“Boohoo, you lot couldn’t find a pregnant model?” Realizt Dee asked on Twitter.

“That belly ain’t fooling anyone.”

The model in question is Camilla Moraes, and after a quick stalk of her Instagram, it’s clear that she isn’t pregnant and there’s no sign of a newborn child – so we’ll let you work that one out for yourselves.

And while Camilla is often used in the maternity section on Boohoo, she doesn’t appear to model for the main range again raising the question, ‘why did they not just hire pregnant models?’.

But Camilla Moraes isn’t the only model that’s been caught wearing a fake bump.

Back in October of last year, shoppers spotted another product post that seemed to include added padding.

DailyEdge.ie reached out to Boohoo for a comment but they told us that ‘unfortunately, they are not currently making comment on the situation’.

What do we think – laziness or a larger issue?
